History and Mission Statement

The Corpus Christi Athletic Club has more than 110,000 square feet of indoor facilities, as well as outdoor facilities for you and your family. We offer more under one roof than any other facility in South Texas. Our mission statement is, “To exceed member expectations in a clean and safe environment.”

A better you means a better community. We are a non-profit which means your membership goes a long way. The Athletic Club is owned and operated by the Morris L. Lichtenstein, Jr. Medical Research Foundation. That means 100 percent of its profits go toward all the great events the foundation supports throughout our community.

In the last 12 years, more than $3 million has been given to charitable organizations and medical research. Your membership at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club helps support a number of educational, cultural and environmental programs and helps fund some major contributions to the following groups:

*Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra *Women's Shelter of Corpus Christi
*Catholic Charities *South Texas Broadcasting
*Corpus Christi Chamber Music Society *Driscoll Children's Hospital
*South Texas Institute for the Arts *M.D. Anderson Hospital
*American Diabetes Association *Texas State Aquarium

$1 million to Del Mar College for the construction of the Lichtenstein Early Learning Center

$1 million to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for phase two of the Performing Arts Center which will house the Lichtenstein Theater

$236,000 for Scholarship Assistance

Since the mid-80s, the Corpus Christi Athletic Club has been an advocate of health and well-being. With the help of the members, we have been able to achieve these same goals for our entire community. The next time you step on a treadmill or take a dip in the pool, take comfort in knowing that with every step and with every lap, you are shaping a better community.
